Kingswinford 3 - 2 Lichfield

Goal scorers: Dan Marsh (2), James Dunn

Squad - Brad, Surjit, Tim, Al, Sophie, Jamie, Ethan, Dan, James, Toby R, Lauren, Cam & Tom.

Kingswinford took an early lead with Dan opening the scoring after two minutes. The home side then began to press, but K'fords defence was resolute and well organised. The action was fast and furious - both midfields continued to battle with Ethan, Jamie and James all looking to create openings. Once again, Dan and Al came closest to increasing the lead. After K'fords first short corner of the game, Dan scored his second with a fine shot on the edge of the D. Lichfield however, got back into the game straight away with a quick counter attack and fine shot, giving Brad no chance.
Half Time - Lichfield 1 - Kingswinford 2.
Lichfield started the second half confidently, but were unable to break K'fords solid defence. After 10 minutes, good work from Jamie on the left, allowed Al to find Lauren, but her shot was well saved. The homeside continued to look for the equaliser and after 15 minutes, a quick break resulted in their second goal. With the action continuing, both sides were looking to get the winning goal. It was K'ford who re-took the lead on 20 minutes, after good work from Ethan and a great shot from James. Despite both sides having further chances, the score line remained unchanged.
Full Time - Lichfield 2 - Kingswinford 3.
This was a great battling away performance from the whole team. Both sides played their part, but overall Kingswinford deserved the victory.

Kingswinford 6 - 1 Sutton Coldfield Lions

Goal scorers: Al Armstrong, Toby Roberts (2), Lauren Frost, James Dunn (2)

Squad - Brad, Tom, Luke, James, Toby R, Will, Jamie, Dan, Al, Ethan, Toby K, Cam, Lauren, Surjit and Louisa.

The second successive home game saw the Lions visiting the Dell Stadium. After last week's home defeat to Barford Tigers, K'ford were looking to get back to winning ways. Both teams started strongly with their midfield cancelling each other out. The first scoring opportunity fell to Al but his effort was well saved. Shortly afterwards James's short corner picked out Jamie, who's shot was just wide. At the other end, the Lions continued to be a threat, keeping both Al in the centre of defence and Brad in goal busy. On 20 minutes the deadlock was broken with K'ford taking the lead with a fine shot from Al. On 25 minutes the lead was extended after a quick break, Dan found himself in space, and his excellent pass to Toby R reulted in a fabulous strike into the bottom corner of the net. K'ford continued to attack and shortly afterwards Toby R added his second and K'fords 3rd of the game with a close range effort.
Half time K'ford 3 Sutton Coldfield 0.
The Lions started the second half confidently pushing K'ford back into their own half. After 10 minutes, their persistence was rewarded with a fine strike, making the scoreline 3-1. However, the next attack saw the home side restore their 3 goal advantage, following a quick break from midfield, Lauren was allowed to score from close range. The action continued to flow from end to end and the Lions were hunting for their second goal and we're a constant threat on the break. At the other end Louisa came close, but after 20 minutes, it was James who scored K'fords 5th. This was quickly followed with James's 2nd of the game, after another quick break from the home team.
Final score K'ford 6 Sutton Coldfield 1.

It was a thoroughly entertaining game with both sides showing great spirit and commitment. In Tim's absence, a special thank you to Chris and Louisa for their team selection and coaching, also to Surjit and Ethan who volunteered to play for the opposition who were two players short.

Kingswinford 0 - 3 Barford Tigers

Squad - Brad, Sophie, Surjit, Luke, Al, Toby R, Ethan, Dan, Toby K, Cam, Jamie, Will and Lauren.
The game started at a fast and furious pace, with both sides showing good skills and teamwork. The early stages were mainly contested between the two midfields with the opposition having the better of the opportunities. As the game began to open up, the Tigers were creating the best of the openings and were keeping Brad busy. After 15 minutes K'ford fell behind following a deflected shot. The Tigers extended their lead shortly afterwards following more sustained pressure. K'ford were finding it difficult to break out of their own half as the Tigers had the lion's share of the possession.
Half Time - K'ford 0 Tigers 2.
The home side started the second half confidently, with Al and Ethan beginning to combine and put pressure on the Tigers defence. The first clear cut chance fell to Al, after a short corner from Ethan, but his shot was just wide. Further attacks followed, but were halted by a strong Tigers defence, and at the other end the opposition continued to be a threat on the counter attack. On twenty minutes, against the run of play, the Tigers added a third goal. Despite further attempts, K'ford were unable to reduce the deficit.
Final score K'ford 0 Tigers 3.
Full credit to the team for the commitment they showed, with a much improved second half performance.

Streetly 5 - 2 Kingswinford

Goal scorers: Ethan Dunbar-Baker, Al Armstrong

Squad - Brad, Tom, Sophie, James, Surjit, Luke, Cam, Jamie, Dan, Lauren, Toby R, Ethan, Al, Toby, Tim & Chris.
The home side started confidently and dominated the early exchanges. K'fords defence found themselves under pressure for long periods from Streetly's fluent attacks. However, after 10 minutes, the first short corner of the game was awarded to K'ford which resulted in Dan's reverse hit being blocked on the line. This was followed by a quick break from Streetly, with them scoring the first goal of the game. K'ford continued to find themselves having to defend and were struggling to break out of their own half. After 20 minutes they fell further behind following another swift move from the home side.
Half time: Streetly 2 K'ford 0
The start of the second half saw K'ford make several changes to the starting line up, however despite these, the home side went 3 up after a few minutes. Following this, K'fords midfield began to find some fluency to their game. Al's reverse hit was their first clear cut chance of the match, with his shot going narrowly wide. Unfortunately, another quick break from Streetly's midfield gave them the opportunity to make it 4 - 0. K'ford continued to battle and good work from Jamie and Toby created an opening for Ethan, who made no mistake. Score 4 - 1. As in the first half Streetly's next attack put them further ahead. K'fords fighting spirit meant they continued to battle and were rewarded on 20 minutes, when Al found himself with time and space to score. At the other end Brad was also being kept busy, but neither side added to their score.
Full time: Streetly 5 K'ford 2

Dan continued to battle breaking up attacks and pushing the Badgers forward but the score remained the same into half time.
Half time: 1 - 0 to Old Wulfrunians
K'ford once again started positively and after 5 minutes James was unlucky not to score. The Wulfs keeper was in fine form to deny the away side an equalizer. The midfield continued to dominate and work well together, but were unable to break through and level the score.
