Kingswinford 1 - 6 West Bromwich
Scorer: Katie Parsons/Tom Underhill?

A disappointing game for kingswinford who fielded a makeshift team against a strong West Bromwich side. West Bromwich dominated the early part of the game in the first half scoring two quick goals but there was some good defending from the K’ford team. K’ford got a controversial goal just before half time which was a Katie Parsons shot off a short corner but Thomas Underhill claimed to have touched it.
At half time it was 2-1 and after an inspirational team talk by captain Tim Sanders K’ford clicked into gear but were up against it again by the West Bromwich team after 5 minutes of heavy pressure. West Bromwich scored a goal and then the floodgates opened and more went in. But in between the heavy bombardment of shots there was a penalty flick given after the ball hit the foot of a defender on the line, but the flick went wide. The game finished 6-1 to West Bromwich.

2nd Team (Match Report by Billy Sandhu)
Wednesbury 3 - 2 Kingswinford
Goal scorers: Billu Sandhu, Shahzad Latif

This match had everything that constitutes a good derby game. Kingswinford dominated play throughout and were unlucky not to win this game. Kings spent much of the first 20 minutes in Wednesbury's half but the opposition defended well especially their goalkeeper (a former GB under 21 trialist !). He made a brace of good saves each from Latif, Takhar & Purewal. The deadlock was broken when Veteran Billu Sandhu stepped up from Defence to take an unstoppable Short Corner strike into the far corner. Kingswinford were 1-0 up ! Realising that the game was slipping beyond them Wednesbury (AKA WWF Hockey Club) responded with the nasty side of their play. Adam Harris, who had been Kingswinford's best player, was tripped and pushed around by the Wednesbury lads resulting in Adam & a WWF defender being yellow carded. This stopped Kings dominance for the last
10 minutes of the first half. For the second half both sides were restored to 11 each. Again Kingswinford were on top with Sarj & Latif both showing silky skills to weave past Wednesbury defenders only to be denied by fine saves from the goalkeeper.
Disaster Struck when Wednesbury on a rare forage into Kingswinford's Half won and scored a short corner.
Kingswinford responded with wave after wave of attacks.
Wednesbury now had decided to become WWF HC and a push on Kaza by a Defender made the Kingswinford Forward retaliate with a push & trip back. A melee of 11 v 11 broke out with Kaza & the Defender both receiving yellows once peace was restored. On 65 minutes Kings won a deserved penalty which was converted by Latif. A harsh penalty corner awarded on the final whistle and a mistake by Mark Stevenson meant that Wednesbury could have bragging rights in this years Derby Match.

3rd Team (Match Report by Sol Buckner)
Stone 1 - 2 Kingswinford
Goal Scorers: Tim Sanders, Mark Pell

Kingswinford thirds saved their best performance until last to stun high-flying Stone in a memorable away victory. Tim Sanders troops were forced to dig in deep from the start as the home side laid siege on their goal. But dogged defending kept Stone at bay and allowed Kings to counter attack with pacy new signing David (Scotty) Scotford and livewire Steve Leonard. Despite numerous short corners and two blatantly biased home umpires, Stone were kept firmly at bay. Scotford, Sol Buckner and Leonard were a constant threat as Kings broke from midfield on several occasions. Sensing an upset, Kings deservedly went into the half-time break without conceding and Sanders half-time pep talk worked wonders. Within two minutes the skipper opened the scoring with a brilliant drag flick from a short corner. And minutes later striker Mark Pell finished off a stunning five man pass-and-move involving Mick Hinton, Buckner, Scotford and Leonard to send the team into raptures. Shell-shocked Stone were all at sea for ten minutes as Kings looked for a third. But the home side pinched a goal back on the hour to leave a nervous last 10 minutes for Kings. Chris Rawlings pulled off a fine point-blank save from a short corner to deny Stone at the death and the final whistle sparked a carnival atmosphere on the pitch. Stand-in vice captain Sol Buckner said: “This was the best third team performance in the four years I have been at the club. “Every player gave their all and showed real desire to compete and win. “We were up against a strong, physical side and two blatantly biased umpires but justice prevailed. “Just a few months ago, this side was 6-0 down at half-time at Market Drayton. “It has come a long way since then and on days like this we could beat anyone in the league. “It was a fantastic way to end a long, hard season and hopefully the team has been inspired for the start of next season.”

Badgers (Match Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 0 - 9 Leek

A real bad result for K’ford in their last game of the season. The first goal went in after 15 minutes and then the rest followed. K’ford were 4-0 down at half time. Even a formation change couldn’t change the game. K’ford conceded 5 more in the second but it could have been worse if their goalkeeper Cole Hickman hadn’t made some good saves. K’ford in the last five minutes put two chances wide but it just wasn’t their day.

Old Silhillians 7 - 0 Kingswinford

2nd Team (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Kingswinford 7 - 1 Old Silhillians
Goal Scorers: Shahzad Latif (2), Sarj Takhar (2), Kaza Purewal (2), Richard Turner

An outstanding performance from Kingswinford 2nds cemented their position in the WM Division One for next year. There were many great performances with Jindi Singh, Shahzad Latif, Sarj Takhar & Mark Stevenson all being viable contenders for man of the match. However that accolade goes to Kaza Purewal this week for his 2 goals that are going to be on the list for goal of the season !!
Latif opened the scoring for Kingswinford after he collected a reverse pass from Takhar and blasted home from D top. Takhar added the second goal with a characteristic dribble past 3 defenders and shot from an acute angle. Then Kaza Purewal showed that he could more than match the first two goals. He scored his first goal after the goalkeeper saved a penalty corner shot from Hari Singh by collecting the ball on reverse stick and flicking above the keeper and defenders on the line. His second was a reverse stick goal from the narrowest of angles after a great pass from Jindi. 3 further goals were added by Turner, Takhar & Latif.
A mention must also go to the veteran defence of Dulla Sandhu, Sarj Nijjar, Mark Stevenson, Hari Singh & Lubby Ram. All season these guys have faced players who are less than half their age (even quarter in some cases) yet they have emerged on top by using their wisdom & experience to combat speed & fitness !!

3rd Team (Report by Sol Buckner)
Kingswinford 2 - 2 Market Drayton
Goal Scorers: James Wheeler, Sol Buckner

A memorable debut goal from teenager James Wheeler helped Kingswinford thirds to a share of the points in another thriller at the Dell. The visitors were gifted a two goal lead after Kings reacted slowly to two short corners within 15 minutes. But Tim Sanders troops battled back with a superb move down the right wing involving Steve Leonard, Dean Holyoake and Mark Pell. Holyoake's bullet of a cross was met by Pell whose shot rebounded off the keeper into the path of Wheeler who made no mistake from five yards out. A rousing half-time team talk from Sanders inspired an impressive fightback. Kings dominated the second half and the pressure paid off on 52 minutes when Sol Buckner smashed home Holyoake's through ball from the edge of the D. Man-of-the-match Jon Craggs limped off five minutes later when Buckner's D clearance smashed into the youngster's right foot. Stand-in keeper Chris Rawlings then pulled off a fine save from the ensuing short corner. Kings had several chances to win the game but were forced to settle for their sixth draw of the season. Delighted skipper Sanders said:"The lads played very well and deserved to win. They showed true grit. "We've really improved since Christmas and I'm confident we will go on to beat last year's points tally." Kings take on Stafford at the Dell on Saturday starting at 4pm.

1st Team (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Berkswell & Balsall Common 6 - 2 Kingswinford
Goal Scorer: Rob Allen (2)

Kingswinford 1st Team were offically relegated from the West Midlands League 1 before this match. With many injuries & unavailability of around 5 regular first team players, captain Pammi Johal was forced into playing unexperienced & young players. These players need a mention as all have done well and can be
proud of their performances in recent weeks - Makhan Sunner, Damion Johal, Dave Williams, Chris Rawlings, Jack Moore, Rob Allen & Chris Hancocks.

The match started at a frantic pace with Kings having 10 players on the pitch due to a late arrival. However, it was Kings who were pushing for an early goal. Poor finishing from Sarj Takhar, after an excellent solo run, meant that Kingswinford did not captalise on their possession play. By the time Kingswinford had eleven on the pitch they had been stung by 2 sweeping counter attack moves and were 2-0 down. As is the case with 'Kingswinford Style' of play they still pushed for an opening and often left themselves exposed in defence. Berkswell added a third on the stroke of half time.

The second half saw Kingswinford play some excellent 1 touch hockey. The first goal was scored from such a move. Ginge Sehmbi to Richard Brown to Jag Dulai to Sarj Takhar, who returned the pass to Jag allowing a cross to be touched in by
Rob Allen. Even the Berkswell supporters applauded the goal. A second goal was added by Rob when Chris Brown squared a pass to him from another similiar move. It was 3-2 and game on !! But a lack of fitness from all the team meant that Kings conceded another before they could level the match. With 10 minutes left Kings won a penalty that would have put them back in the match but Chris
Brown's flick was saved and at the sight of this many heads dropped. Berkswell added another 2 goals to make the scoreline look flattering at 6-2 !!

Kingswinford will need to re-group next year and push for promotion using a lot of the younger players who have gained invaluable experience in recent weeks. Hopefully an unjust '9 point' deduction next year hanging over their heads will not be enforced by the league.

Kingswinford 2 - 4 North Stafford

West Bromwich 8 - 1 Kingswinford
Goal Scorer: Steven Leonard

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 0 - 8 Wednesbury

K’ford’s bad run of form continued with their worst defeat of the season so far against a much stronger opposition (including four adults at times). K’ford had a chance inside 5 minutes but it was stopped by the Wednesbury keeper. Wednesbury scored 2 goals before half time but K’ford were lucky not to be anymore down after some smart saves from goalkeeper Cole Hickman. After a quick team talk K’ford tried to get themselves back into the game but it was to no avail. Wednesbury took advantage and scored 6 more goals but it would have been more if the K’ford keeper hadn’t been on top form.

Well done to the Badgers for never giving up but just wasn’t their day.

2nd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Evesham 1 - 5 Kingswinford
Goal Scorers: Shahzad Latif (3), Adam Harris, James Parker

A stunning hat-trick from Shahzad Latif helped Kingswinford second team to a vital win over relegation rivals Evesham. The win was Kings fifth in six games during a superb run of form. Latif fired home a well taken short corner on four minutes before repeating the feat minutes later. Kings piled on the pressure and it paid off again on 19 minutes when Adam Harris rattled home from another short corner. And it was Harris's 13-year-old son Will who threatened to steal the limelight from Latif. The Old Swinford Hospital schoolboy stepped onto the pitch at half-time to put in a performance beyond his years. On 50 minutes, defensive linchpin Lubby Ram found Latif unmarked with a 50 yard pass. The imposing striker danced through the Evesham defence to slot home from the top of the D to complete an impressive hat-trick. James Parker added a fifth five minutes later to complete the rout before Evesham managed a consolation strike. A win against fellow relegation battlers North Stafford on Saturday at The Dell could secure safety.

Kingswinford 1 - 0 Kidderminster
Goal Scorer: Fergus Forsyth

Kingswinford 1 - 6 Bromsgrove

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Walsall 4 - 0 Kingswinford

Kingswinford started the match with a weakened team but put plenty of pressure on Walsall with most of the play in the Walsall half of the pitch but were unable to convert several good chances. Ten minutes before half-time Walsall scored through a short corner and then a minute later went 2-0 ahead from a free hit. After the break Walsall scored another couple of quick goals to make it 4-0. Kingswinford applied pressure late on but were unable to make a break through. A good display by the team but it just wasn’t their day.

2nd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Kingswinford 3 - 1 Finchfield
Goal Scorers: Azad Akhtar, Richard Turner, Shahzad Latif (p)

The great relegation escape is still alive for Kingswinsford as they overpowered local rivals Finchfield at the Dell. First half goals from Azad Akhtar, Richard Turner and a debut strike for Shahzad Latif ensured a fourth win in five games.
Finchfield arrived early for their derby game but their preparations proved useless when Akhtar bundled the ball home from a well-worked short corner on 5 minutes. The visitors hit back minutes two minutes later following a quick break. Then Kings stepped up the pressure and another short corner on 20 minutes left Turner a simple far post tap-in.
Just before the break livewire winger Richard Turner fired in a bullet cross for Kaza Purewal to blast into the keeper from close range. The umpire blew for a penalty after spotting Finches keeper using the back of his stick to clear. Latif buried the ball into the bottom right corner to leave the keeper no chance.
In the second half, Kings looked dangerous on the break through Latif and substitute Sol Buckner. But the visitors held out a rampant Kings side who now have picked up 13 out of a possible 15 points. Captain Sonny Matharu said: "We have been on a great run this year and it's been a huge team effort.
"There's a lot of confidence in the team and we're playing better than ever. A couple more wins and we should be well safe."

3rd XI (Report by Billy Sandhu)
Pershore 1 - 1 Kingswinford
Goal Scorer: Steven Leonard

Kingswinford dominated the first half with near misses where finishing lacked some confidence. Pershore came close but Kings keeper Chris Rawlings denied them from scoring.

Second half was more challenging with Kingswinford hesitant on scoring until Steven Leonard scored with an excellent strike. Kingswinford’s lead was short lived as Pershore equalized within a few seconds. Overall, a good game for Kings to build on.

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 3 - 4 Droitwich
Goal Scorers: Tom Underhill, Cole Hickman and Jonathan Craggs

The match started well for K’ford with them enjoying plenty of the possession and nearly taking the lead. A goal came soon after through Tom Underhill. Droitwich replied with three quick goals after catching K’ford on the break. K’ford were unlucky to be 3-1 down at half time. After half time K’ford tried to get back into the game but were caught on the break again with only one defender back against four attackers.

K’ford soon replied with a goal from regular goalkeeper Cole Hickman. In the last few minutes of the game Jonathan Craggs scored his first goal for K’ford to make it 4-3 to Droitwich. It was a game K'ford deserved to win and brought an end to their recent unbeaten run.

2nd XI (Report by Richard Turner)
Kingswinford 1 - 1 Old Wulfrunians
Goal scorer: Ranjit Bhadal

Kingswinford's winning streak came to an end with this hard fought draw against top of the table Old Wolves. Kings were unlucky not to be two or three up by half time. Old Wolves scored early in the second half from slack marking on the post but Kings levelled from a deserved penalty flick ten minutes later converted by Ranjit Bhadal. Shahzad Latif came close five minutes later with a thundering shot rebounding off the left post.

3rd XI (Report by Billy Sandhu)
Bloxwich 1 - 0 Kingswinford

Kingswinford failed to pickup on their performance when they conceded a goal during the first half from a short corner. It was goal keeper Dave Adams blocking Bloxwich from scoring again. Overall a disappointing performance from Kings.

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 5 - 0 Wolverhampton
Goal Scorers: Sophie Tibbets, Jason Couzens (2), Fergus Forsyth (2)

K'ford started the match well with two goals from Jason Couzens in a matter of minutes. About ten minutes later K'ford had a penalty flick which Fergus Forsyth converted into the corner of the net to make it 3-0. For the rest of the first half Wolverhampton pressed hard for a goal but were denied by the goalkeeper and defence.

The second half began with Wolverhampton pressing even harder for a goal but they kept being denied. In the last five minutes K'ford scored two from Fergus Forsyth and Sophie Tibbets after good work from all the team.

Well done to the badgers for getting a third win in a row. Good luck for next week!

2nd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Kingswinford 5 - 1 Stone

Goal scorers: Azad Akhtar, Hari Singh, Kaza Purewal (2), Sol Buckner

An explosive first-half performance saw Kingswinford sweep aside relegation rivals Stone with a four goal blitz. But a third successive victory looked unlikely when a defensive blunder saw the visitors score within two minutes.

A poor clearance saw a tame shot loop off a defender's shin and spin past helpess keeper Mark Stevenson. Within minutes Kings were level when Azad Akhtar flicked home Hari Singh's short corner. Moments later Akhtar turned provider from another short to allow Singh the simplest of tap-ins. On 20 minutes Kaza Purewal grabbed the third with a stunning reverse stick flick from a short. And then substitute Sol Buckner pounced on a loose ball in the D to make it 4-1 seconds before the break.

The visitors launched a fightback in the second half and Stevenson thwarted several attacks with a series of superb saves.
And Kings forced a fifth with a brilliant team goal involving Lubby Ram, Shahzad Latif, Akhtar, Singh and Purewal who tapped in a five man pass- and move. Delighted skipper Sonny Matharu said: "We showed a lot of aggression and desire to win. It was a great team effort and thoroughly deserved. We are giving ourselves a great chance of getting away from trouble and avoiding relegation."

3rd XI (Report by Billy Sandhu)
Kingswinford 0 - 0 Evesham

Kingswinford enjoyed an exciting even sided game where both teams looked strong in the first half. In the second half frustrations took cause and Kingswinford conceded a penalty flick, a super save by keeper Dave Adams kept Evesham at bay with a point for both teams.

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 4
- 1 Streetly
Goal scorers: Fergus Forsyth, Laura Underhill (2), Ashley Underhill

A match which started well for K’ford with them managing to score two quick goals from short corners through Fergus Forsyth and Laura Underhill. Fifteen minutes before half time Streetly got a goal back and were well on top but then being denied by goalkeeper Cole Hickman.

For the first twenty minutes of the second half Streetly pressed for a second goal but were denied by post and goalkeeper. But the last ten minutes changed the game completely with two more goals for K’ford. The first one was for Laura Underhill from another short corner and one from Ashley Underhill after the opposition goalkeeper had made five good saves. Well done to the K’ford for gaining a second win in a row. Best of luck for next week!

Reports of games played on Saturday 20th January 2007

1st XI (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Kingswinford 1 - 2 Rugeley
Goal scorer: Chris Brown

This was a West Midlands League 1 relegation 6 pointer. Either side could not afford to lose the match and hence there was a nervous start. Rugeley brought many old veterans for this match (9 players over 40). Kingswinford had 6 players over 40 including veteran keeper Sarj Virdee. Many of the Kings squad are injured or not available in recent weeks. Sarj Virdee was called into action early on and he pulled off a stunning save diving low to his left to deny a goal to the visitors. Kingswinford then started playing some neat hockey. Rugeley had ten men behind the ball and used their experience to snatch an undeserved two goal advantage. Kingswinford won 5 penalty corners in the first half from which there was not a single strike! Chris Brown injecting the ball to the wrong stopper or the push being too fast to stop. The second half saw Kingswinford camped in the opposing half for 30 minutes with Kingswinford having 80% of the play - but still there was no way through. Eventually after Permi Johal changed the Short Corner Routine did Kingswinford score - a stunning drag flick by Chris Brown. Chris Brown went close with with a second short corner and Ravi Johal was close to getting the equaliser when he went past two defenders and rounded the keeper only to be denied by a last ditch tackle. Kingwinford still have an outside chance of surviving in this league but it needs a manmouth effort from all the squad - heads must not drop! Man of the Match Award goes to Richard Brown who marshalled the defence very well - back to his best.

2nd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Kingswinford 2 - 0 Stafford

Goal scorers: Richard Turner, Sol Buckner

A storming goal from veteran winger Richard Turner helped keep the great relegation escape alive for Kingswinford. The evergreen 58-year-old latched onto a pinpoint 50-yard pass from skipper Sonny Matharu within two minutes. Turner sprinted into the D and unleashed a shot which the Stafford keeper let slip through his legs. From a tight angle he slammed the ball home to give Kings the perfect start, especially as they took to the field with just nine men. Ten minutes later Lubbi Ram and Kaza Purewal arrived to steady the ship in difficult windy conditions. And it was Ram who almost doubled the advantage when he slipped into the D only to see his searing shot well saved. Keeper Mark Stevenson pulled off a fine point-blank save on 25 mins following a quick Stafford break. A second half pep-talk from Matharu inspired Kings to raise their game. A series of short corners paid off on 45 mins when Shahzad Latif fired into the D to see Sol Buckner blast into the goal. Stafford tried to get back into the game but Kings' defence held firm mastered by another impressive veteran Surjit Nijjar. On Saturday, Kings entertain Stone for a crucial basement battle starting at 2:30pm.

3rd XI (Report by Billy Sandhu)
Kingswinford 0 - 6 Hampton-in-Arden

A difficult match for Kingswinford where they conceded an early goal with a second before half time. It got worse for Kings as Hampton-in- Arden took all opportunities with a further 4 goals in the second half.

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 3
- 2 Sutton Coldfield
Goal scorers: Katherine Lloyd, Thomas Hickman and Fergus Forsyth.

Kingswinford started the match well with them dominating possession and scored through Katherine Lloyd. Sutton Coldfield quickly equalised from a short corner. Five minutes before half time team captain Tim Sanders ran through the midfield and fed Fergus Forsyth who crossed for Tom Hickman to score his first goal for K’ford. For the first twenty minutes of the second half K’ford were put under pressure from the opposition who during that period grabbed an equaliser. Fergus Forsyth got in on the scoring act with the third goal after setting up the other two goals. Well done to the badgers for grabbing their first win of the season.

Reports of games played on Saturday 13th January 2007

1st XI (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Kingswinford 2 - 8 Redditch

Kingswinford 1st were away to league leaders Redditch this week-end. The match started with Redditch moving the ball around from left to right of the pitch and seeking openings within the Kings defence. The first opening arrived within 5 minutes and it was 1-0 to Redditch. Kings appeared to be half asleep in this period - many had not had a proper warm up due to late arrival. Then Kings started to play. Andy Cutler & Jag Dulai combining nicely to win a short corner. Sarj Takhar had the strike which unfortunately was 3 inches above the back board !! Sarj made up for this when he won and converted the second short corner 5 minutes later. Redditch were rattled and Kings were having the better chances. Sarj & Chris both going close after some silky stick work skills to get into Redditch's D. As the umpire was about to blow for the end of the first half disaster struck when an error led to Redditch scoring a 2nd goal.

The second half started well for Kings but then fitness came into play and Redditch showed why they are top of the league. They added a second and a third goal after the defence was left exposed from the midfield cover. Jag Dulai then ran rings around 3 Redditch players before scoring a wonderfully placed shot. It was 4-2 and Kings won a penalty corner. This was converted by Chris Brown but not allowed after consultation & pressure from Redditch players. (Reason given ball was rising above the backboard even though the ball hit top of backboard !!) Kingswinford then pressed the old 'self destruct' button. Amo Sian was yellow carded for dissent and promptly followed by Sarj Takhar. Amongst all this going-ons Redditch added 4 further goals to have a scoreline that flattered them. The Redditch Captain later commented that this was one of the toughest games they played in and certainly Kings should not be at the bottom of the league.

2nd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Kingswinford 2 - 1 Redditch
Goal Scorer: Hari Singh

A bad tempered match ensured an explosive start to the new year as Kingswinford Seconds bagged their first win of the season. A defensive mix up allowed the visitors to sneak an opener on 10 minutes but rarely did they threaten again. Evergreen Hari Singh grabbed a well worked equaliser minutes later. Wingers Sol Buckner and Richard Turner should have put blues ahead with gilt-edged chances. But it was the second half which proved the turning point as Kings piled on the pressure. After a wave of attacks, full back Lubbi Ram poked home the winner on 55 minutes. Then the game turned ugly as two Redditch players were sent off for dissent and another walked off in protest. The umpires blew early to end any further controversy.

Reports of games played on Saturday 16th December 2006

2nd XI (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Kingswinford 0 - 3 Old Halesonians

This friendly fixture started off at a frantic pace. Old Hales going close twice after defensive errors from Kings within the first 10 minutes. The home team eventually ventured into the opposing half with Sarj Takhar winning a short corner from which Azad Akhtar almost scored. The next 15 minutes were all dominated by Kingswinford. A slick 12 passes moved saw Ravi Johal go close skimming the post with a powerful shot.

The match was turned on it's head when Old Hales scored. A little note should at this point be made about Mark Stevenson who has bravely played in goal all season despite carrying a groin injury. The weak effort that Old Hales scored from would have been easily saved had Mark been fully fit. Early in the second half Kings brought Sol Buckner on to add pace and power to the right side - this had an immediate impact. Unfortunately it was Old Hales who added a second from a rare counter attack.

Jag Dulai then skillfully crossed from the right to Azad. The ball hit Azad's right foot rather than the back board !! Kings were rightly awarded a penalty on 60 minutes. Jag Dulai stepped up to take it and his weak effort was saved by the keeper (who had a cup of tea whilst the ball reached him). In an effort to get a result Sarj Takhar had a solo run from which he should have passed rather than shooting wide.

Old Hales added a final goal in the dying seconds of the match. Kings will be hoping Santa brings the whole club some luck so that results and umpiring decisions go their way in the new year. A few Club members who moan & groan like Scrooge hopefully will be changed men in the new year.

3rd XI (Report by Billy Sandhu)
Kingswinford 0 - 3 Stone

Kings dominated the first half with most of the possession and had close encounters of scoring. It was Stone who took an early goal. It looked as though Kings would equalise but the visitors keeper kept a clean sheet.
The second half was more controlled by Stone when they scored a further two goals. Overall disappointing for Kingswinford as they were the more proactive side.

2nd XI (Report by Sarj Takhar)
Old Silhillians 2 - 0 Kingswinford

Kingswinford were unfortunate not to get at least a point from this match. Kings defence held out all the opposition attacks until the 59th minute. The defence was finally breached with a lucky goal from Old Silhillians after a deflected cross wrong footed the Kingswinford full backs. As with previous matches this season Kings were missing 8 regular 2nd team players through injury & unavailability. As a result semi retired old boys were called into action - Parj Sangha & Andy Cutler. Both shook off the Cob-Webs and made impressive comebacks with Andy having a shot cleared off the line in the 10th minute. Kingswinford made a few chances themselves which were not finished off. Kaza Purewal having another mazy solo run to win a short corner that Azad Akhtar almost scored from. Old Sils scored a late goal while Kings pushed for an equaliser. Kings will be looking for 3 points from next week's match v local rivals Wednesbury to have a fighting chance to remain in this league. Man of the Match award goes to Mark Stevenson who pulled off some great saves in the first half. Skipper Sonny Matharu said '' We were unlucky considering the team we played with - but next week is vital for us''.

3rd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Stafford 2 - 0 Kingswinford

Kingswinford started the match with attacking pressure where missed opportunities arose. Both teams played end to end with no goals during the first half. Stafford scored twice in the second half with some controversy over their second goal.

Badgers (Report by Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 1 - 5 Lichfield

Goal Scorer: Fergus Forsyth

The match started well for K’ford with a couple of decent chances which were missed. Lichfield started to take more possession and then scored. 3rd XI (Report by Sol Buckner)
Market Drayton 6 - 1 Kingswinford
Goal Scorer: Sol Buckner

It was a tale of two halves as Kingswinford capitulated in 20 torrid
minutes amid the impressive surroundings of Lilleshall in Shropshire. Tim Sanders' shell shocked side needed an England training camp session themselves after conceding six first half goals. Stand-in keeper Chris Rawlings did his best to keep the rampant home side at bay on a difficult water-based pitch.
But the 20-year-old was left helplessly exposed following several defensive errors. A severe half-time pep talk from Sanders and a change of keeper did the trick for the second 35. Using his first team keeping experience, Dave Adams marshalled his defence superbly pulling off several close range saves.

Within minutes Kings hit back when Sol Buckner stroked the ball home following a well-worked short corner pass from Mick Hinton. The team worked hard for a second but could not find a way through the home side's stubborn defence. So it's back to the drawing board for Sanders as he plots his first win of the season against Stafford next week. Sanders said: "It was a tale of two halves. We played our worst first half of the season and then one of our best second half performances. Unfortunately it was too little too late."

Badgers (Report by Cole and Tom Hickman)
Kingswinford 2 - 2 Old Halesonians

Goal Scorers: Fergus Forsyth, Cole Hickman

In the first twenty minutes of the match K’ford had all the possession and scored through Fergus Forsyth. Old Hales then put another adult on in midfield and then Old Hales started to take the possession and managed to equalise. In the second half Old Hales went ahead with another goal. In the last five minutes of the game K’ford equalised after the defence cleared the ball to Fergus who threaded the ball through to Cole Hickman who scored his first Badgers goal even though he usually plays in goal

The whole team put in a tremendous effort throughout and deserve a lot of credit for what was a most enjoyable match to watch (Richard Turner).

2nd XI (Report by Adam Harris)
Kingswinford 4 - 4 North Stafford
Goal Scorers: Azad Akhtar, Sati Takhar (2), Ravi Johal

Saturday saw AJC Electrical sponsored Kingswinford 2nd’s travel to Newcastle to play North Stafford. In need of points, Kings were determined not to leave empty handed. Unfortunately it was Staffs that started the brighter showing good control and passing moves. Kings were resolute in defence and hit Staffs twice on the break in quick succession. Firstly a stupendous strike from Sati Takhar followed by a well placed shot from Azad Akhtar. 2 up against the run of play stirred the home team to re-double their efforts. Kings survived a series of short corners but eventually the pressure told and Staffs scored twice in quick succession making the half time score 2-2. The 2nd half started as the first had finished, with Kings missing some midfield fitness, soon saw the home team take the lead with a 3rd and 4th. Kings could have crumpled at this point, but this was not to be the case as a well deserved short corner was skilfully converted by Takhar for his 2nd. Than followed a period of sustained pressure from Kings which resulted in panic at the back for Staffs as Rob Allen skilfully beat his marked and pulled back a pin point accurate pass for Ravi Johal to hammer home the equaliser just before the end. Kings should take heart from gaining a much needed point against a fit well organised home side on a day when regular members of the squad were unavailable or not fully fit. The Britannia Inn sponsored Man of the Match was Sati Takhar for his 2 goals and never give up attitude.

But West Brom hit back minutes later scoring twice on the break within 10 minutes.Kings tried hard in the second half to get back on level terms with midfield dynamo Sol Buckner twice going close. The visitors pressed hard themselves and killed off the game with a tap in from close range just minutes from time.
Disappointed skipper Tim Sanders said: "We could not have done anymore.Everyone played their socks off. Now we roll them up and try again next Saturday. We are getting better every week."
